What Is A Pelvic Floor & Bladder Health Workshop & What’s It All About?

The Pelvic Floor supports almost every movement we make, yet we can only optimise our movements when we work on our awareness of our Pelvic Floor and actively take control of its health.

The Pelvic Floor provides support to all the internal organs that sit within the pelvis and its health impacts on our daily lives, affecting our sleep, our continence and our mental health.

The goals of this workshop are twofold:-

1) To build up our awareness of these deep muscles and improve both their flexibility and their strength, developing a better body-perception overall posture.

2) To learn some important facts about how to improve our bladder health, though awareness of our own body, resulting in better bladder control, better sleep and improved mental health.

We need to be able to both contract and relax our pelvic floor muscles, and allow an ease of movement in the connective tissues and ligaments in small yet highly effective ways. Once we start to understand this way of working we can slowly build up various exercises and including several methods into our practice.

The first section of this 2 hour workshop will involve working closely with your Pelvis, using various positions and small props, so that you are able to activate your pelvic floor muscles. 

We will then move to work on basic bladder health, looking at incorporating good habits into our daily routines as well as discussing what changes we can make in our lifestyle that will impact on our ability to remain continent for as long as possible.

You will leave with a better understanding of how you can take control of your pelvic floor rather than let it control you.
